Treatment Services

Case management services

Each adolescent is assigned to an IDT case manager who develops a treatment plan for each student developing individual goals and strategies for achievement.  The treatment plan is developed and evaluated regularly with feedback from all of the student’s stakeholders.  The case manager meets one on one with students regularly and is in weekly contact with parents, county workers, and outside service providers to ensure the treatment plan is meeting the needs of each individual student.  The individual treatment plan goals must be accomplished in order to successfully complete the program.

Groups

Students participate in two groups daily focusing on a variety of subject areas including, Aggressive Replacement Training, Chemical Dependency, Goal Setting, Character Development, Social Skills, and Diversity as well as program progression.

Assessment services

IDT administers the Millon Adolescent Clinical Inventory (MACI) three weeks after a student’s initial intake.  This is a 160-item self-report inventory designed specifically for assessing adolescent personality characteristics and clinical syndromes.  This assessment is used for evaluating the at-risk adolescents who attend our program, in developing their individual treatment plans, and can be used as an outcome measure.

Behavior management

Students are closely monitored throughout their stay in the program.  Staff members help students to recognize behaviors that are creating barriers to success and work with students in developing healthier behavior patterns.  IDT’s highly structured setting provides many opportunities for students to practice more successful behaviors.

Mental health services

IDT collaborates with Choices Psychotherapy in providing mental health assessments and providing ongoing individual and family therapy.

Experiential learning

In addition to the primary education services IDT offers an experiential learning component for the weeks following summer school up until the start of the regular school year.  IDT offers focus-driven activities, giving students an opportunity to engage in fun, non-traditional learning activities.  Students are able to choose from three focused areas of experiential learning including sports and recreation, creative arts and crafts, and wilderness activities which includes an annual week-long camping trip provided in a partnership with Wilderness Inquiry.
