Who uses the foodshelves?

People like Bill and Sue, who worked for the same company for 15 years and were both laid off. They had donated to Keystone Community Services at their church so knew where to go for help when their savings was used up. They go to the foodshelf once a month so they can pay for rent and transportation as they look for work.

People like Dawn, who came to Keystone for the first time after her son was ill and missed school. Dawn had to take two days off from work, thus losing 40% of her salary that week. The food she received helped mitigate the loss she will experience on her upcoming paycheck.

People like Rita, who worked as a software developer for 20 years, until debilitating arthritis made work too difficult for her. She downsized to a small apartment and sold many of her belongings. With monthly foodshelf assistance, she is able to get by on her disability income.
